Hey guys/gals,

Has anybody stayed at this hotel on Soi 5 ?

Looks like a quiet Soi with no bars but close to the action, the beach and second road.

Did a forum search loads of results but not specific to this hotel.

Do you think it would be dangerous late at night like 6\1 can be ?

I have included the hotels links and the photo guide location.

Any info would be much appreciated.

I googled it and found this review.

Beware! Sleeping in this hotel is even with ear-plugs barely possible! The extreme noise disturbances are not only at night but around the clock, due to the following reasons:

Door locks and door handles are not functioning. Therefore the guests have to slam their doors very hard to close them.

The walls between the rooms are paper thin so that you can hear literally every fart of your neighbor. The most disturbing here are the sounds from the television sets all around you.

The hotel is frequented by hordes of “lonely” male guests, mainly from China, Korea, Japan, Russia and Arab countries, who are partying with their Thai “ladies” in their rooms and even on the corridors. The worst is, when these people appear in groups. Then they love to leave their doors open and party from one room to the other, mostly deep in the night and even on the corridors.

The 2 lifts are also making a very disturbing noise by giving an unnecessary loud double ringtone every time they stop.

Beside all this you encounter every morning a breakfast scenario with a concert of 2 loud TV sets, only with Thai channels, serving only as a entertainment for the lazy Thai staff. The so called “breakfast buffet” is very poor and only suitable for Asians, not for Europeans.

The 3 female receptionists have never heard of “Thailand, the land of smiles” and are just extremely unfriendly, speak very poor English and love to treat all Non-Asians like dogs.

Reclamations with the management or the reception are absolutely useless. They apparently don’t want to improve anything. Beside this, even if you try to complain about something it’s very likely that they just don’t understand what you mean. The night staff e.g. isn’t speaking English at all!

The only positive thing about this hotel is the good location, a relatively good cleanliness and the friendly room-maids, but the rest is just a nightmare.

So a couple of things not to like. Other than those it seems ok.
