Went to an Eye Clinic behind Carrefoure last week as I was seeing Flashing.

That indicates a possible Torn Retina which is dangerous to ones sight if allowed to progress to a Detached Retina.

The Surgeon said I did not have a detached Retina so I paid my 1500bht and left. He gave me some eye drops to slow down the Cataract I have.

I went to see another Surgeon in he Queens Hospital Sattahip this morning. "You have a torn Retina in your right eye. Come back tomorrow and I will fix it with a Laser".

You can't trust them can you guys?

"clinic" v. "hospital" - never trust a clinic to diagnose something that is ambiguous

Good point - the guy at the clinic tells you "she'll be right" because a) he wouldn't know, and b) even if he did know he wouldn't be able to fix it.

What's he going to do - say "I'm sorry Sir, you have wasted your time and money. It could be this or that but I wouldn't know as I am not a doctor, but just a fellow wearing a white coat. Give me 1500 baht and fuck off to a proper medical establishment to get it checked out properly"

What did he do for for 1500 bath ?

Seeing a surgeon in the (expensive) Pattaya Bangkok hospital is only 700 bath :UGotServed1:

  • 2 weeks later...

For my 1500 bht the Eye surgeon in the Clinic behind Carrefoure put drops in my eyes and then had a look to see if I needed anything done. He said I had Cataracts in both eyes and they would need operating some time in the future. He failed to spot a TORN RETINA in my right eye!

Next day I went to The Queens Hospital in Sattahip. The Eye Specialist there said I needed urgent laser treatment to stop the Retina from becoming detached.

He did it next day. Cant say it was a nice experience but it only took 10mins. The first Consultation cost 700bht and the Laser work 4000bht..
