Good Government Hospital near Pattaya

If you interested in finding a good hospital they doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Then Somdej Hospital just before Siracha is for you. :Clap9:

Their Telephone number is: 038-322-157, 158 or 159, also 038-772-971 thru 985

I have been there several times already. Had Surgery twice there. The Doctors there seem to understand the issues much better then many private hospitals I have been to. I used to be a Customer for Bangkok Pattaya Hospital :Booboo: , but after many visits to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and total dissatisfaction. I started checking for other facilities with competent staff.

I have been to just about every hospital in the area over the years and have come to the conclusion, that there is no reason to go to private Hospitals, because they just rip you off.

They post Bogus charges on your account. If you don't check your bill and dispute the charges. Then they get extra $ for services they didn't even provide. Bangkok Pattaya Hospital told me it would be no more then 17,000 baht to stay overnight when I will very sick. They did nothing for me. Next morning I was still sick, because the Doctor had no idea what the problem was, even after I explained to him what I had and what medicine I needed.

He prescribed something totally different, which was worthless. Next morning a specialist came in and asked how I was doing? I told her terrible the doctor gave me the wrong medicine. She prescribed what I ask for and a few hours later I was on my way home. No biggie! Only cost me 22,000 after fighting with the billing dept for an hour over charges for Medicines and services they did not provide. Original bill was 32,000.

It should have been an outpatient service. all I needed was an IV with Levaquin and Flagyl. It should not have cost me more then 6,000 at the most, but Bangkok Pattaya as with many private facilities is probably hurting, so they Milk their customers for every Baht they can.

One thing to look out for there. They like to send doctors not even related to your case to say "Hello, How are you today" Then they charge 800baht per doctor everytime they walk in your room. I had about 6 of these charges, which I had all removed. and many medicines I did not even use were billed to my account, but upon dispute they quickly removed those as well.

Watch out for Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. Your better off with Somdej Hospital just about 17 Kilos up the road, just off Sukhumvit before Siracha. I stayed in the Hospital 3 1/2 days. Had Surgery and was on Morphine the whole time. My bill at Siracha a Whooping 15,000 baht for EVERYTHING. Love this Hospital. Nice staff there as well. :12: LOL

I hope this post helps some of you out there. It will definitely save you money and the Doctors are more knowledgeable at Somdej Hosp then Bangkok Pattaya or Pattaya Memorial, they are clueless in my opinion. :Insanity:

Only 1 thing, unless you go to the emergency room. There will probably be a little sitting time, but worth saving many thousands of Baht.

Banglamung Hospital is good too.My lady works for the government and uses Banglamung if and when required and she says it's very good.I went once to meet her and ok it's not a Palace but it's a good clean hospital which is what you need when you're sick.

We recently had a customer transfer there from Sirikit Hospital and he said it was good and not expensive.

Many expats I know also go to Sriracha for their treatment as it doesn't have the Pattaya loading. The naval hospital at Sattahip is also reckoned to be ok.

Be scene and not herd.

I have been to Sirikit Hospital as well in Satahip. I still say Somdej Hospital is WAY WAY Better. I went to Sirikit twice, but never like that place to much. Doctor was again clueless as to my condition. Even when I tell them what I have, most of them say what is that? Go figure. :Think1:

Realy...... I have visited a friend who was treated there (with cancer) died in this Hospital. I would not send my dog there for treatment.

Before any of you decide on treatment take a look at the wards !!!!!

I have to agree. A friend was recently discharged from there following a motorbike accident and said it was horrendous. Their x-rays also showed no sign of damage. A subsequent x-ray in a UK hospital showed a broken shoulder, 2 fractures of his collarbone and cracked ribs.
