Hello again people

On a lighter note i was hoping to have a game of golf when i'm away and would like some advice please,

How would i go about arranging this?

Are there any Coarses to be avioded or are must plays (proably only have one round) that a resonably priced?

Whats the best time of day to play please don't say very early lol

Staying in the Jomtien Area if this helps.

Also is it possible to go Kayaking? as done this in Krabi and had a great time, if not what other activities are around to do in the day?

Many Thanks

There are around 27 golf courses not far from Pattaya that are opened to the public. The majority of these courses are excellant with a affordable and reasonable price. You can arrange your golf outing through your hotel if they offer it or you can go to many bars that have golf outings. If you go online to Pattaya Mail then go to the sports section you will see golf outing reviews from different bars that participate.

During the week is the best time to play because on the weekend is when the Thais usually play plus there is a lot of Koreans and Japanese that play on the weekend as well. Some course have "Sports Day" during one day during the week which costs less than regular days. So my advice is to go through your hotel or find a bar that concentrates on golf and arrange to go play with them which would be a lot better for you IMO.

Hope this helps and have fun!

:Drink4:golf in pattaya is a great experience there are many world class courses, if you are a good single figure golfer

or a 28 handicapper you will truely enjoy a game and the company of the girl caddie can make your worst round ever

a fun day out. If your a regular golfer join a society i play out of lewinskis soi 14 just put your name down turn up

and the rest is done for you by colin, and afterwards there is always the 19 hole!!!!

On Soi LK Metro there are 2 great golf bars

The Golf Club

Travelers Rest:

Both have groups going out daily. Just stop by and they can let you know where, when, costs and what time to show up at the bar for transportation.

Golf in Thailand is world class and very reasonably priced.

I always join up with a bunch of Aussie guys. They run a nice little establishment about 15 minutes out of Pattaya called the Outback Golf Bar (surprising name for an Aussie Bar eh?). They pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, there are daily competitions, though not hugely serious - if you are a hacker like me that's cool, and get excellent rates to play. They'll even lend you a decent set of clubs if you don't want to travel with yours.

I've played about ten different courses with them in my last three trips so there's plenty of variety too.

Check out their website, www.outbackgolfbar.com and drop an e-mail to Captain Bob - one of the funniest and warmest people of met and he's not even Thai!

I've played with both the "Outback" and "Golf Club" and would agree you can't go wrong with either of these clubs. Never played with the Travlers Rest but a few of my friends have and enjoyed themselves. Good luck and hit em straight..

If can, can.. If no can, no can..
