Good cheap hotel near Soapy Land

The last 5 years I have been going to Bangers for dental work - nothing major (cupple of implants & some crowns) but I string it out so I can have another holiday

 

The dentists I use are fantastic and the cost is 1/3 of Australia's dentist cabal. State of the art dentistry & most are foreign qualified & smic establishment. The address is on Ratchadapesik Road which is handy for those who need a soapy before or after a dental treatment

 

It is right on the cusp of all the main massage complexes and near Huay Kwang subway.

 

We stay at the Ratchada City hotel (would post a link but their website seems to be hijacked atm) and for 900 baht we get a huge room with a king size bed, small balcony * bath/shower - incl buffet breakfast (that aint too flash). Good size swimming pool & fairly quiet altho it can be popular with bus groups. Seems girl friendly as I have seen a few perps with different ladies over my visits.

 

About 100m from the subway and 5 min walk to all the Soapy Karaoke dens. Also an interesting night market by the subway that specialises in lingerie and sexy outfits for the KTV & massage girls. Also a good food area & a nice beer bar upstairs from a little arcade 1/2 way up on the left. All the girls come here to eat & shop for undies & it seems a few FL options are available as it gets later. Well worth a visit & definitely not a tourist area.

 

Anyway --- good place if you are in soapy mode or dentist mode. Non-stop to Nana via the train or around 40b by cab later at nite.

Nice area, used to stay there when i lived in BKK. You are right about everything except the non stop train to Nana. If you take the MRT (subway) from Huay Kwang you can go to Sukhumvit(Asoke) so it takes you directly to SC. If you dont want to walk the rest of the way you need to change to BTS (Skytrain) 1 stop from Asoke to Nana. The taxiprice is a bit more expensive,, as the meter starts at 37 Baht and 40 Baht might take you to SC (depending of the traffic), add another 15-20 Baht to get to Nana, But that is peanuts...

Thanks for tidying up that info Mate. Yep you do need to take the BTS 1 stop but we always figured that by the time u xfer & buy the token & wait for the transport --- it is just as easy to walk up instead. You pass some bars and can always whip up a short detour to lolitas

 

The taxi is prolly right - but after 6 or 7 margaritas my memory is confused :LMAO1:but it is cheap

 

Also good shopping centre in that area with Robinsons, Starbucks & a good food court in the basement
