gday, just after a bit of advice please....

im moving to thailand in december and am getting married in january.basically i would like to know which type of visa you think i should arrive on.(

i dont want to pay for a long stay visa if i dont need to as i was told once you were married you can apply for a different type of visa.also does anyone know if there are any requirements to be met in obtaining a visa once you marry a thai national?

cheers darryl

forgot to add, im only 24 so a retirement visa is a long way off yet lol

There is no fiance visa as such, so in theory you could get married whilst on a 30 day exemption. 60 day tourist visas are still free. Check out the Hull Thai Consulate visa section:

From your post it seems like you will be staying there long term, so you will require an 'O' visa, which you can also obtain from Hull. All you need to do is fill out a form with your girlfriend's name / address etc.

The requirements for a 1 year extension to an 'O' visa based on marriage are 40k per month income or 400k in a Thai bank account, or a combination of both.

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:
