We just have been informed by the Pattaya Traffic Police regarding the beach road closure on

13 & 14 August 2010 for the 2nd Pattaya International Fireworks Competition

(งานแสดงและประกวดพลุนานาชาติเฉลิมพระเกียรติ).

 

The beach road will be closed from the Dolphin roundabout to central Pattaya.

 

Closing dates:

Friday, 13th August from 15.00 - 24.00 hrs, Saturday, 14th August from 12.00 - 24.00 hrs.

Preparations for the 2nd Pattaya International Fireworks Competition, which is due to take place on 14th August, are well underway and on Thursday Morning at Pattaya City Hall, a final preparation meeting, chaired by Khun Watanna, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, took place. This meeting discussed the security arrangements for the contest which will feature entrants from 10 countries, including Japan, USA, China, Germany and Thailand. A stage will be erected on Pattaya Beach in front of Soi 4 and the fireworks will be detonated from floating platforms on the water. The event will include a Royal Fireworks Display in honor of His Majesty The King and for more information please call the Pattaya City Call Center on 1337.

The event will take place opposite Soi 4 at Pattaya Beach after dark on 14 August 2010. Be sure not to miss out on this event that has a little something for everyone.

The highlight of the event includes the mid-water musical fireworks spectacularly put together by firework specialists from 11 countries who will also be taking part in the contest. The participating nations are Australia, China, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Thailand.

 

Besides the fireworks show, the event will also feature many other stage performances and entertainment. Over 1,000 police and military officers will be deployed to ensure safety for tourists.
