not heard about that one. I thought they have clamped down on the visa's from Cambodia.

Farang = Walking ATM. TG's push the right buttons and money comes out. PIN = BBBJ

I don't know for sure because I haven't done it, but I did enquire at a Travel Agent just off Riverside about a year ago..

It might be the One World Travel on this map, but it was the Air Asia agent.

They said no problem, but I can't remember how much but obviously not free the same as the Single Entry ones are.

I don't think there was an agent fee.

If you don't get a definite answer then SinkorSwim might know.

Most people seem to get them from Vientianne I think.

No - you can't - empty rumor.

Talked with 2 visa agents - negative.

Single entry only if you stay overnight and waiting for the visa.

All people go to Vientiane in Laos, and get 2 entry visa. :GoldenSmile1:

Alternative: apply in Hull in United Kingdom and get multiple entry - good for 15 months. :GoldenSmile1:

Alternative: go to Perth Australia and get same as above. :GoldenSmile1:

Note: last year they did give double entry but that lasted less than 1 month.

Don't listen to rumor mill - ask a visa agent.

IME Expat46 is one of the best sources of accurate information on here and he seems to be quite sure they don't. I'd be inclined to take his word for it.

The only other thing, if you still think they might have just started doing them, is someone on the ground in Phnom Penh.

There's a BM named "oldie" who might know if you PM him.

Have you searched the Thai Consulate office in Phnom Penh?

Just a comment on an earlier post saying "double entry" tourist visas weren't free like the single entry visas. I don't know about the ones obtained in Cambodia (if indeed they can be), but I did get double entry visa "free" here in USA through Thai embassy in Chicago in March of this year. Maybe some of the embassies charge for the double, but that was not my experience.

I wait to be corrected, but I'm pretty sure the Free Tourist Visa promotion is only intended to apply to basic Single Entry, in which case I can only say lucky you.

Some Consulates don't even offer the Double Entry and some charge an Admin' Fee for the free ones I believe.

I did the double entry visa run to Cambodia in April this year.Left here on the Thursday morning and stayed 2 nights in Cambodia and returned to Pattaya on the Saturday.

Actually I was going to ask a question with regards to this visa so here goes.I have to go to Jomtien immigration this month to get my 30 days. Can anyone tell me what documents I need to take with me as for the life of me I can't remember what I needed the last time,do I need passport photos or just me and my passport ?

You can only get a single in Phnom Penh at best.

I just used an agent/mini bus and got a double.

I used 1st Class Visa runs but they told me several lies and ripped me off.

They charge 7500baht but the agents in Sio Baukhao using same mini bus only charge 5900baht.

I will never use 1st Class Visa runs again and my advice to anyone is be very careful if you choose to use them as you may well get ripped off.

I'm sure there are some here who would appreciate a little more detail.

I don't necessarily mean about how you were "ripped off" (up2u) as no doubt prices vary, but more about the expedition itself. I presume you went to Vientianne.

Welcome btw. :GoldenSmile1:

Nope I went to Cambodia Poi Phet border and stayed in a casino in between the borders.

Ist Class Visa runs told me only 6 in the Mini bus but there were 9 plus the driver.

They told me you stay 1 night in the hotel and checkout 7pm (as still stated on their website).

You actually have to checkout at 1pm unless you want to pay an extra 450baht yourself for the extra 6 hours.

On my run they LOST everyones passports so we had to recheckin and stay an extra night until they found them.

Take your own food as the casino you stay in has really bad food.

I did however get a double tourist visa, but by using 1st class visa's I paid 7500baht whereas everyone else paid 5900baht. i don't mind paying a bit extra when I go through better agents but 1600baht more than the other agents is excessive.

Just updating this, 1st Class Visa runs have now given me a partial refund. I am a reasonable person so I will now give them a second chance.

Up to date INFO about double entry tourist visa:

http://1stclassvisaruns.com/

Has been going to Laos for double entry trips for a long time

and since mid August also started double entry trips to Cambodia.

But they strongly recommend people to go to Laos - not Cambodia

due to serious border dispute - deaths - possible problem/delay to obtain Visa.

Unless customer insist to go to Cambodia, then rather see you go to Laos.

http://fivestarvisaruns.com/

Has also been going to Laos for double entry tourist visa run for a long time.

They can also do double entry tourist visa trip to Cambodia.

But they also recommend people to go to Laos - not Cambodia,

same reasons as 1st class visa run.

Told me they only had 3 customers going to Cambodia this week,

all others choose the longer but (Visa) safer trip to Laos.

If I insist on going to Cambodia for a double entry, I was told to contact them 1 day before departure

so if any problem at the Cambodian border, they would transfer me to a Laos visa run!

Last year, Pattaya visa agents did double entry visa trips to Cambodia,

but it lasted only a few weeks.

Have used both companies since they started and have been satisfied with both.

Cheaper options can be found: Bri& Joy and Cambodia Inter, in Soi Buakao.

More people in the bus, and less service and frills.

Recommending going to Laos for a double entry.

Cambodia has just restarted and seems to be too uncertain, similar to last year when it was quickly canceled.

Option 1 : if you already have extended your visa by 30 days = Malaysia (Penang) have been reported to turn down applicants who's already on extension. So people fly back without visa and get VOA 30 days. YMMV.

If you not have extended it already, have not seen any problem reported, unless you already have the red stamp.

Option 3: Minibus leave Pattaya 7pm - at border 4am = 9 hours with 4 toilet stops. It's a hard trip.

And you check in hotel first at 11am.

Option 4: Go to Perth before they close and get a multiple - that is if you can find a cheap AirAsia ticket BKK - KUL - PER. Dep dates in my case, ticket and taxes B 22-24.000! Add taxi, hotel, visa etc. Expensive.

Cambodia seems the best option, IF all goes as it should. But I can't forget the strong warnings from both agents of possible problems / delays.

Feeling lucky, not worried ? Cambodia

Play it safe, cheap and long hard trip ? Laos by Minibus

Play it safe and fast ? Laos by Air

Rich ? Perth and 40K+ for a multiple

Advise impossible. :Dunno:

I am in Phnom Penh at present, obtaining a single entry tourist visa. Flew in on AirAsia on Wednesday evening and submitted application on Thursday morning, with my return flight to Bangkok late Friday afternoon. Women who interviewed me was very prickly and lectured me that there is a 4 day turnaround for visa issue. After a bit of discussion (and an offer from me to pay an "expediting fee") she agreed to do it in 2 days and hand it over at 2.30pm rather than the normal time of 3-4pm. She also said that next time would not be able to get in 2 days in PP. No problems with this as PP is a shithole and won't be back!

Visited a few bars here in Phnom Penh but the standard of women not up to Pattaya levels. Also a very annoying habit of girls surrounding customers and not going away even after singling one out to buy a drink. This really pisses me off as I like to enjoy my first beer alone while I check out the ladies on offer. Sharky Bar is still pretty laidback and not like the smaller bars in Bar Street.

I'm just back from doing the double entry at Cambodia, left here at 02.00 on Wednesday, crossed into Cambodia at 07.00 and in my room at the casino at 08.00 after a reasonable breakfast.Breakfast and evening meal included but not great food at all,the room was very good.

Stayed for 1 night and checked out at 5pm tonight, passports back at 6pm and on the bus back at 6.30pm.

No stops on the way back and I was in my house at dead on 9.30pm.

Kessaya:

What agent did you use + their location?

How much was the trip?

I didn't go through an agent,I know one of the bus drivers that does it on a regular basis and he gave me a special price.

It really did run smoothly apart from the passenger who was pissed when he got on the bus and stayed pissed the whole time we were there and let us all know he was pissed !!

I heard some of them on the trip were paying 6500-7000 bt.Cambodia Travel on Soi Buakhow were doing them for 5900 bt the last time I went through them but that was for 2 nights not 1.

I was in my house for the second part of The Office on Thursday night,9.30pm.

Believe me I was impressed with his driving.
