Double Entry Tourist Visa From Cambodia

Recommended Posts

I'm just back from doing the double entry at Cambodia, left here at 02.00 on Wednesday, crossed into Cambodia at 07.00 and in my room at the casino at 08.00 after a reasonable breakfast.Breakfast and evening meal included but not great food at all,the room was very good.

Stayed for 1 night and checked out at 5pm tonight, passports back at 6pm and on the bus back at 6.30pm.

No stops on the way back and I was in my house at dead on 9.30pm.

I wait to be corrected, but I'm pretty sure the Free Tourist Visa promotion is only intended to apply to basic Single Entry, in which case I can only say lucky you. Some Consulates don't even offer the Double Entry and some charge an Admin' Fee for the free ones I believe.

Double entry tourist visas from Vienchiag (orig spelling), they have been free for a year & a half now, I've had three of them... Take it you've been corrected :)

You can only get a single in Phnom Penh at best.I just used an agent/mini bus and got a double.I used 1st Class Visa runs but they told me several lies and ripped me off. They charge 7500baht but the agents in Sio Baukhao using same mini bus only charge 5900baht.I will never use 1st Class Visa runs again and my advice to anyone is be very careful if you choose to use them as you may well get ripped off.

Just backing up what you say. Has I've just mentioned I've done the Viengchiang run 3 times now & I watch so many people spunk their money with these visa firms, agaents or touts. To everyone FFS stay away from them! Do it yourself & make an experience of it, it's a nice break from mongering.

In 10 yrs I've actually got my visas quicker by myself than any of the divs who I've watched hand over their hard earned cash, the only exception being Penang.

I'm trying PP at the end of the month & I onnly expected to get a single entry, but that'll do me uintil I get my retirement visa. Where did you get your double entry from, by the way?

I didn't say you couldn't get them free (even from Hull) but the blurb that they put out referred to Single Entry I thought.

So, can we conclude that although you can get a Double Entry by doing a Poipet/Cambodia visa run, you can't get a Double Entry in Phnom Penh?

Also, could someone confirm how long you can get out of one by doing the extensions etc. please.

Is it still possible to buy 2 of these and do this without the second one expiring?

I did another visa run in September and got a double entry which was issued at Phnom Penh,I get 60 days and then go to Jomtien and ask for an extension for 30 days.Total 90 days.

At the end of the 30 day extension I need to do a day visa run to Cambodia and then I get another 60 days etc.

I've got a friend doing the run on Monday for a double entry,I'll post if any different to me.

Interesting thought about buying two but looking at mine it expires after 90 days so I think the answer to that one is probably no ?

I did wonder about expiry. Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought they were talking about buying 2 - dunno then.

So, one double entry, with extensions and a border run, is good for 60 + 30 + 60 + 30 = 180 days. Is that correct?

If so, 6 months with only one border run doesn't sound bad, especially for those who manage to get them free.

2 x (2 x 1900) = 7600 p.a. (maybe plus c. 3000 for visa?) so more expensive than a One Year M.E. but better than going back to UK.

P.S. - You're talking about getting a D.E. through an agecy on a run to Poipet yes? Albeit they are issued at Phnom Penh, is there a suggestion that you can't necessarily get them in PP itself?

About the PS,I truly don't know what happens after I get to Poipet, personally I don't want the trek to PP and I'm quite happy to let the agents arrange it.I don't see why someone going to the embassy themselves can't get a double entry though.

What worries me is that the wrore-mongering TEFLers on ajarn, who quickly learn every visa trick in the book, haven't even squeaked about this. :Circle_Sharks:

Maybe you know something we all don't know?

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:

I don't need one myself, so I won't go to the Embassy, but I know a good agent in PP who helped me with something else, so I'll ask the Q, just out of interest when I get there, for anyone else who might be interested.

Lol - you really spent some time researching your trip then. :Circle_Sharks:

None of that has anything whatsoever to do with a Double Entry Visa from Cambodia.

First class visa runs does the trip for 7500 baht all in. I used them for a Laos run once and the service was great. Cambodian border is a hell of a lot closer than Lao

First class visa runs is only one night in Cambodia. i would pay an extra 1500 to use an established company with a good reputation rather than an unknown.

Fair play to you but others may want exactly the same visa run for 1500 bt less ?

how do you know it is the same van with nice seats and the same hotel that first class visa runs uses? They have an established website and an office. I would not go to Cambodia with a shady operation like you are describing, dealing with a driver directly, etc to save a few baht.

If that's what you choose to do then so be it.I will use my shady operator and you use your place and we'll both come back with exactly the same piece of paper.....Correct or not ?

i don't know, that is the point. What if your passport comes up missing for example? If any problems happen the established companies have an office and you can sort it out with them and in most cases talk to a farang owner. Somchai won't be able to provide this type of service or a chance for recourse in case of any problems.

Maybe I can rent a motorbike for a few baht cheaper than you but i would chose your service because it is an established business with a good reputation unlike Somchai renting out shady motorbikes behind the snooker hall

Ok,all I'm saying is that I've used my shady operator for my last 4 visa runs,2 double entries and 2 30 day extentions and I've been more than happy with the service provided and that's why I recommend him.I also know of 3 people who have used the service through me and have come back to me without reporting any problems.

As for what if a passport is lost well that's just as it sounds isn't it ? What if a passenger gets lost ? What if the bus has an accident ? Or a blow out ? I'm sure Somchai would do his best to remedy the situation,he certainly isn't a cowboy operator.

I have got nothing against 1st class visa runs,I've heard many good things about them, but my own personal opinion is that I like Somchai,he's provided me with a good service every time I've used him and until something goes tits up I will continue to use him and recommend him to others and save myself 1500 bt in the process.

Nope I went to Cambodia Poi Phet border and stayed in a casino in between the borders.

Ist Class Visa runs told me only 6 in the Mini bus but there were 9 plus the driver.

They told me you stay 1 night in the hotel and checkout 7pm (as still stated on their website).

You actually have to checkout at 1pm unless you want to pay an extra 450baht yourself for the extra 6 hours.

On my run they LOST everyones passports so we had to recheckin and stay an extra night until they found them.

Take your own food as the casino you stay in has really bad food.

I did however get a double tourist visa, but by using 1st class visa's I paid 7500baht whereas everyone else paid 5900baht. i don't mind paying a bit extra when I go through better agents but 1600baht more than the other agents is excessive.

Just updating this, 1st Class Visa runs have now given me a partial refund. I am a reasonable person so I will now give them a second chance.

Well now we can see that passports do get lost.

you used a service for the 30 day extension? What did they charge? my last extension i was in and out in less than 20 minutes, why would you need a service for this?

yes, i understand how it works but i thought you said you used Somchai for your 30 extension? Are you promoting him for this as well as the border and visa runs?
