Tiger Airways are a typical no frills airline but beware, they are prone to cancelling flights between Bangkok and Singapore if not enough passengers. This happened to me a few weeks ago. They have 3 flights per day and put me on the late flight - I missed my onward connections :SteamingMad:

Their flights into Singapore go into the budget terminal which is no big deal if you plan on taking a taxi into the city. The train station is in Terminal 2, which means a 10 minute bus ride from budget terminal.

Cheap accommodation is hard to find. The best options are the no frills hotel chains, Value Thompson hotel is pretty good value (http://www.valuehotel.com.sg/Thomson/facilities.php)

If you are interested in visiting the new Singapore casinos, be warned that you need to carry your passport to gain entry. Otherwise, make sure you visit Orchard Towers (aka four floors of whores) after 10pm.

I once travelled by Tiger Airways. It is a budget airline and you get what you pay for. Don't expect anything more. As for accommodation, I believe there are a few budget hotel chains such as 'hotel 81', 'Fragrance Hotel'. Prices are between 80-120SGD/night. [From my own research:)]
