sightseeing flights with ultralights

Hello gents. Has anyone taken a sightseing flight with ultralight or a plane

over Pats? Is there a website where I can get some informations.

Last time when I was in Pattaya I saw almost everyday some ultralights

flying over the beach and the city and I wonder how to take part on a flight.

I think that could be a lot of fun. Has anyone made the experience? And

how much is it?

Would like to hear about that.

Thanks. Andre.

Hi Iceboy. As Im now in Pattaya I found something with the help of the staff of my

hotel. You can have sightseeing flights at the Pattaya Air Park. Price will be 5.500 baht

for a 30 - 40 min. flights are for max. 3 persons. The airpark is near the Phoenix golf

course.

The people in the asured me that the flights are safe. (but maybe they just want to get

rid of me) Anyway Im planing to do a flight in the next days. Not sure when, because as

you know its raining season and I need to have a afternoon without to many clouds.

As soon as I return from the flight I will tell you how it was.

Hi Iceboy, I did it! And it was great fun if you like to fly I can highly recommend

it. We flew with small plane (4 seats) and it feels like to fly on a motorbike because

the pilot wanted to show us how he can fly. But I always felt very safe. Not a second

of danger. The flight was about 40 min. That time enogh to see everything from

Jomtien to Pattaya and all the landmarks around this area. Interessting thing to see

that all from above. It was a great experience.

Andre,

Did you organise the flight with the 'flythailand' website or did your hotel staff arrange all the arrangements ? It would be great if you could post some contact info etc as I saw some pics on one of the Thai forums (I think the guy was an accreditted UK licence holder) and it looks like a blast for an afternoon. Any pics ?

Hi Slacker, the staff of my hotel did all the arrangements for me.

You can find the telephonnumber and contactperson on the website

www.pattayaairpark.com.

The Pattaya airpark is near to the Phoenix golf course. Not to far

away from Pattaya. But you have to make sure that your taxi will

wait for you as long as you have the flight because you will not find

any taxis in this area to bring you back to wherever you want to go.

Sorry no pics. My TG insisted on doing the filming for me so I can enjoy

the flight. I explained her how to use the camera very carefully. But what

can I say - she pushed the wrong button. She saw everything on the little

screen but no recordings. Oh, Budda.

Thanks Andre...I've bookmarked the site and will try and make arrangements from this end before my trip. Failing that, I'll have a word with my hotel on arrival. Shame about the pictures !

Iceboy, you cold also contact Pegasus on Discussion,I do not remember his name on Talk, about this. He had very nice pictures of his flight over P. and is a ultra light pilot.
