take the small round battery out on the mother board

and pull the psu plug too

so no power to the bios, date time ect

leave over night

refit mother board plug and battery

power up pc

reset date time

should be fine now

boards do get corrupted

if a machanical noise,say fans

unplug them one at a time, till get the noisy one

then buy a replacment

prob bearings worn,as they spin 24 /7

the psu unit has few fans too, they spin for long time

maybe a noisy psu

they cheap to replace, make sure to check for 4 pin plug and any sata plugs

so can plug all devices back in on new psu

old power supplys got basic plugs, ide, and no sata plugs, and no pentium 4 pin plug

also maybe need to check if mother board main plug is a 20 pin ,or 20 pin +4

bit longer, got 4 more pins, newer boards need these

well good luck

is it loud? could be the fan clipping something or your cd/dvd drive ..

still could be the fan .. some of them speed up when the cpu is working, otherwise your hard disk is on its last legs..

take of your computer case cover and check the fans inside the case make sure no wires hanging near the blades and blades spinning freely. power up the pc with the cover of the case off and listen to then fans. If its your hard disk you will be able to hear the hard disk with the case cover off as well. Hard disk noisy = about to die back up your work fast.

Importantly a Reg clean won't and cannot even slightly affect the noise of a "domestic PC". The Registry is "basically a diary of activity" like a journal or personal diary but it "cannot affect the physical" device directly (it can have settings to undertake an activity BUT only under direction).

Firstly Reg Cleaner.......CCleaner you should have this Tool, but this isn't your problem.

Turn the PC on and put your "hand" on the case and feel it!!! Feel what is going on......is there a consistent vibe.....or is it jittery and erratic.......shit from here you can define what the others are "trying to tend towards" in their advice.

Do a feel test, I will analyse and "freely advise". Smell test is also good, then we could open the case and "at a glance" isolate the problem!
