Ray’s Cuicina

Tired of Schnitzel and Fish & Chips?

Then you should try Ray’s Cuicina, an open restaurant offering mainly Mediterranian and TexMex style food.

Simple but nicely decorated:

Since it opened about a month ago it has become my favorite place as it offers food you can hardly find elsewhere in Pattaya. I am dining there usually 2 or 3 times a week.

Here just a few examples of the regular menu which will soon be extended even further:

Starters:

Clear Fish Soup “Marseille Style”

Mexican Tomato Soup with Sour Cream, Cheese and Tortilla Stripes

Gazpacho

Dates wrapped in Bacon

Grilled Squid with Mango-Chilli Ajoli

(Starting from 80 Baht)

Main course:

Moussaka

Gyros with Zaziki, Cabbage Salad and Tomato Rice or Fries

Empanadas with Chili Con Carne and Cheese

Tostadas

Pangasius Fillet under Herb Crust, served on Basil Noodles with braised Cocktail Tomatos

Grilled Salmon Fillet on Potato Gratin

Lamb Shanks Mediterranian style with Potato Gratin and Green Beans

Spare Ribs (500g) with home made BBQ sauce

(All between 190 and 320 Baht)

Deserts:

Crème Bruelee with fresh Rosemary and Plums

Home made Tiramisu

or how about this:

Almond Parfait with Rum Fruits

There are usually one or two daily specials, so watch out for the blackboard!

Todays special was “Camarao Com Macarrao”, a Brazilian noodle dish with shrimps, red pepper, tomatos, coconut milk and cheese for 230 Baht. Of course I had a Sangria (90 Baht) as drink:

It was fantastic.

Beside the deserts on the menu there is a small selection of cakes you should not miss out on:

I selected the Strawberry Cream cake which was excellent.

Thai food is available from the restaurant on the opposite side which belongs to the same investor group.

I will be there again this Sunday for the Deer Goulash as daily special.

Ray is interested in feedback, so if you have any comments, please post them here.

Ray’s Cuicina is located on the first Soi to the right, coming from the Dolphin roundabout and going to Naklua. It is the first restaurant in the Soi on the left hand side.

Looks good. I normally stick to Thai food when in Thailand however may give it a go if I fancy a change. Good luck, hope it goes well.

I love the amazing variety of food available in Pattaya. I will surely try this place out next time I am in town. However, like the above poster, I do tend to rely on Thai food while in Thailand.
