Has she :

Employment ?

Assets such as land savings etc ?

Any Immigration/ Travel history ?

Applied for any previous visas ?

It is important for any applicant to demonstrate evidence of your economic ,professional and family circumstances in Thailand, if she is of working age with little or no assets, savings land property which might encourage your presence in your host country.

All these factors will be taken into account with any application.

The entry clearance officer will be looking for you to demonstrate your relationship is subsisting and you meet all the requirements of paragraph 41 :

To come to the United Kingdom as a general visitor, you must be able to show that:

  • you are 18 or over;
  • you only want to visit the United Kingdom for up to six months, or up to 12 months if you are accompanying an academic visitor;
  • you intend to leave the United Kingdom at the end of your visit;
  • you have enough money to support and accommodate yourself without working or help from public funds, or you and any Dependants will be supported and accommodated by relatives or friends;
  • you can meet the cost of the return or onward journey; and
  • you are not in transit to a country outside the common travel area.

You must also show that, during your visit, you do not intend to:

  • take employment, produce goods or provide services, including the selling of goods or services directo to members of the public;
  • undertake a course of study;
  • marry or form a civil partnership, or give notice of marriage or civil partnership;
  • carry out the activities of a business visitor, a sports visitor or an entertainer visitor; or
  • receive private medical treatment

    If the ECO does not feel on the balance of probabilities she will return to Thailand they will refuse entry clearance with no right of appeal as you are not married.

    If you require professional help feel free to contact me, we are qualified to give Immigration advice, and we have applied successfully for many board members already.

Regards Paul

I would not advise you lie or use false information :

RFL4.3 What is a false representation?

A false representation is when an applicant or third party lies or makes a false statement in an application, either orally or in writing. The application must be refused even if the false representation is not relevant to the application or your decision and even if the applicant was not aware that false representations, information or documents have been used.

However, you must should not refuse an applicant because you suspect that false representations have been made or because of minor inaccuracies in the application, for example an inaccurate address or mis-spelt name on a visa application form. See the ECO Toolkit for guidance on how to assess an application.

7A) where false representations have been made or false documents or information have been submitted (whether or not material to the application, and whether or not to the applicant's knowledge), or material facts have not been disclosed, in relation to the application.

We have had several clients this year enter my office with 10 year bans from entering the UK , poor applications and using holiday shop visa agents using false documents etc ?

Either do the application yourself or use an adviser who has demonstrated proven ability with entry clearance applications.

Good luck

Regards Paul

I wouldn't worry to much about the fact she worked in bar; more important is what her job is now. It will be much easier for her to get the visa if she has a job that she will go back to and a letter from her employer confirming this.

Plenty of ex-bargirls have got visas, but as TVE says, if she lies on the form it will be a refusal.

another thing i will add is make sure you go thru all the forms and paper work over and over again to make sure everything is 100 % correct before handing it in,if you do it all yourself it maybe worth getting some like T V E to just double check it for you make sure you havent forgot something.

when i first applied for a visa for my mrs before we was married it was refused did it all myself,the reason it was refused was they didnt know what a one account was,they didnt know it was a mortgage and bank account in one,just thought it was a bank account so had to get a letter sent over to thailand from them to prove i had a house for her to stay in.

sent it all back with just this extra letter and got the visa.

if it fails for any reason you do get a letter explaing the points it failed on.

mine was no proof of accomodation we were staying at. im sure its a scam to get you to pay the fee again.

even if you have to get a letter from your mum and dad inviting you both to stay at their house for a holiday and they will put you up
