There are decent hotels further along the soi, or other sois heading upwards.

As you go further down the soi the hotels tend to be cheaper.

These days I just wander around looking for a good rate.

Going one or two sois up is usually a good idea to get a quiter sleep.

If you don't go for a pool you can get an okay room for 700B walking around and checking prices.

I can remember plenty of places around 1,500B with pools. Though not great ones.

Not sure if most of them are on the net

Best deals seem to be for those that go scouting.

Maybe get one night somewhere like the ambasador.

I'm not sure if thats still under 2,000B? but its a good hotel with a good pool.

Then go scouting for other places.

YOu can ask to see the room and the pool. so no suprises.

I even used to take my PSP and check if there was free wifi in the room (you can often pickup a free signal in the big cities).

The best two - as it relates to location, and quality (for the price) - have already been mentioned. Darwin and Dynasty Grand.

At a lower end - and a bit further away - Aspen Suits.

At a lower end, and in the same general area - Omni Town

A bit more, and in the same general area - Phachara Suites (might be able to get a studio under 2k), and Sukhumvit Grand hotel (might be able to get a deal under 2K).
