One of my thai girls used to us the expression "A-loom-sia" whene she did not feel so good.

I used it once when I had a dodgy tummy and everyone thought it was funny...

 

What is the correct context of this word? or did I use the female version or something?

I do not think it was sia, but a sisaa. Sisaa is a formal word for head.

Arom Sia means to be in a bad mood อารมณ์เสีย

Arom dee means to be in a good mood อารมณ์ดี

Arom dee is also slang for "having an erection" so I don't know if Arom Sia is also slang for being floppy ?? :0

Arom is an indication of a 'mood' usually followed by what type, mee arom is a special instance.

 

Dodgy tummy = boo-at tong (boo-at is dull pain, jep is sharp pain)

Head ache = boo-at who-a

Yes Bpoout tong means to have a stomach pain. Tong Sia is usually used for when you have the runs.

 

jep is sharp pain - yes, that is right

 

However

 

Jep tong means labour pain, contractions etc when a women is having a baby

So there you go, consensus says

the runs = Tong see-ya

indigestion = Boo-at tong

 

bad-tempered mood = Arom see-ya

As the girls laughed when you said it the context could well have been, bad-tempered mood induced by premenstrual tension.

Sia means "spoiled, off, bad" "เสีย"

Sia jai "เสียใจ"= literally translates as "spoiled heart" .. but is mostly used to say "sorry" as in when showing condolensces.

Aarom Sia "อารมณ์เสีย" ... is basically like saying "that spoils my mood" ... "aarom mai dee" or "aarom sia" can be bad mood .. depending on the context of the sentance.

 

Most times in Thai if you just say "aarom sia" by itself ... you are basically saying .. "that sucks .. or that pisses me off" or "thats ruining my mood"

 

bpuat kii = need to take a shit

bpuat chii = need to take a piss

bpuat tong = stomache ache .... can be used for male or female interchangably.

 

Jep เจบ is normally external pain .. whereas ปวด bpuat is normally internal pain ...bpuat hua = headache .. bpuat tong = stomach ache

My GF of 1 year taught me early on to say 'mai sabai' = 'not healthy / happy' for when I am sick. Strange that nobody has mentioned it so far.

 

I made my GF laugh after I'd been eating Thai food & had diarrhoea, when I said 'jep toot' = 'pain in the arse'. Thank Buddha for the toilet hose! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!

Just been yakking on MSN with a TG and we put on voice chat and I asked her.

She told me it meant "upset" or "angry"

Probably to do with me being one of those flying things with pretty coloured wings......
