I want to stay in SEA for 6 months, I will be spending almost all my time in Thailand except for a month or so in surrounding countries.

Which visa would suit me best? If I get one of the 6 month visas will it cover me for 6 months even if I leave the country and come back? or will it be cancelled?

 

Im pretty clueless about this, need some info if possible.

double entry tourist visa 60days x2 entries and you can extend each entry by 30 days in Thailand so 180 days or 6 months

Yes a double entry tourist visa will do the trick. Just don't stay more than 60 days on either visit without getting an extension.

If you want to leave LOS more than one time within the validity of your Visa, you can go to Immigration and apply a "re-entry permit" (THB 1.900) before leaving LOS. Then you don't loose your visa.

that sounds good, i went to sihanoukville in august in 2008, worst thing i ever did. RAIN BULLSHIT.

so i might try october next time. it certainly is a different place..
