hi all,

 

i'm looking for shops in pattaya that sell model kits of airplanes and tanks that sort of thing. do any of you know any and if so can you tell me if they have websites that i can take a look at before i come out to thailand?

I think there is going to be far too much for you to do to even think about this.

Central Pattaya has them in the toys department, not the biggest selection but they do stock a few items.

 

Central, Paragon, etc... in Bangkok have lots of stock if you can be bothered travelling up there, they also go as far as having the small air compressors and a good selection of paints.

well, unfortunally i can't say nothing about Pattaya, but you pass in BKK you can found everything you want inside the shoppingmalls (you have to travel around, everyshoppingmall has different shops inside sepcialized in different kind o stuff). I am more into Japanese Toys: if you need any info about them in BKK send me a private message if you discovery something in Pattaya, please write to me

I agree, None in Pattaya but plenty of shops in Bangkok...

There is a good model shop selling radio controlled tanks, cars, helicopters and planes. Some are propelled by batteries and others by glo plug motors. It is by the junction of Second Rd and South Pattaya Rd opposite to where the baht buses take on fares to Jomtien. It is in the big shop that sells leather goods and fishing tackle on the way to Soi 14.

What Yogi said is right on. Walk on 2nd road toward Soi Diamond from South Pattaya Road. You can't miss it, there is a big display of leather goods and fishing tackle, plus all the model cars and airplanes you want. Keep in mind, it is not cheap in this place. They cater to tourists!

There is a big culture about RC Racing Cars here with the kids and young adults. There are a few shops in TukCom and also there is a specialist shop in Thepasit Road they may be able to point you int rh best direction. All the sites i know are in Thai sorry.

There's one on Threpasit Road,if you're coming from Jomtien the go kart track is on your right after about 2 km,the RC club is just past there on the left in one of the new buildings,I think it's an American that owns it but not sure.

 

Also on Threpasit Road opposite the gas stations is a second hand market,there's a Thai guy on there sometimes that sells models,maybe worth a look because some nights there's some real bargains there,books 20-30bt,electrical,CD's20bt,DVD's 20-30bt etc etc.And the bonus is that some of the girls that go there are drop dead gorgeous to look at !

 

My best buy so far ? A masher for making mashed potatoes,can't buy them here,10 baht !

You are best to bring them with you as range is very limited in Thailand and expensive.
