Its about £20 for 5 hours in the lounge if you book online, How much cheaper is it than the flights with the 2-3 hour wait?

You could always go out into town for a few hours.

Other than that, read a book, hang out in the Irish bar upstairs, and sleep ;)

personally i would think you will spend 50-80 pounds paying airport prices for everything.

then if you pay for the lounge upgrade too and consider the time lost with the LBFM's then i would bite the bullet and pay.

that could be 4-6 ladies/good times in that time. an extra 200pounds for that is a deal if your think about it

Emirates will probably change the prices for the earlier flight once people start booking the later flight, they did the last time I flew with them. they wanted £700 return for the short stop over flights and £490 for flights with 8 hours in Dubai on the way back, 1 week later the £700 flights were only £560.

Hi - Having experienced Dubai airport numerous occasions transiting on Emirates I can say you do not want to be in the main concourse for more than a few hours - like the previous poster said i'd suggest looking at alternative flights.

It'll take a day or two to recover after an international flight with 20 hours stop over in any airport. I would check possibility for an earlier departure and get to LOS instead of being stuck in that place.

  • 4 weeks later...

If you've got no choice pay the £20 for 4 hours at the desk and then just stay in for the full 20 hours. Nobody

ever comes and kicks you out (in my experience), free buffet bar and drinks (non alchoholic), nice showers, internet, satelite t.v., big sofas, the air con can be a bit cool so have a jacket with you.

i can resist anything , apart from temptation

How about flying to Heathrow then getting a direct flight to Bangkok with Thai,Eva,Ba or Qantas

Last Nov flew with Emerites from Gatwick, arrived early at Gatwick airport and they put us on the earlier flight to Dubai, we thought they were doing us a favour not so a 3 hour stopover turned into a 11 hour nightmare stopover at Dubai airport. The airport was very busy so no chance getting into the upstair lounges. After returning home spoke to my travel agent friend who explained Emerites would have sold on our original seats at a premium rate, he also said we could have demanded VIP lounge pases at Dubai airport.

A lesson learnt, direct flights from now on!
