deep sea fishing in pattaya

hi board, im going to pattaya in june and really want to do some deep sea fishing, jyst wondering if snyone has done it who they went with, was it good, what and how big are the fish etc. Also I'll be on my own so will that cause a problem? Many thanks.

Just be carefull of the guys on beach road who will be overpriced and may not bring you to good fishing locations

If you want information about deep sea fishing, you can go Soi Honey Inn, Harolds guest house ( i hope iam not wrong ) there is a farang propose 1 day or night trip !!

Last time in Pattaya I stayed in a highrise hotel next to the beach. One morning when I was standing on the balcony I saw some rings on the water and wondered where they came from. Stood there watching the sea a while and suddenly more rings from another location. I never did get to see what caused them but it must have been something huge, this is just guessing but the rings probably grew to upwards of 700-1000m before they died out.

Deep sea fishing may be available somewhere in Thailand, however I doubt it would be nearby Pattaya.

 

I spent 20 yrs spearfishing and diving in Australia, and of the diving I've done out of Pattaya (and it was with a Dive tour group) I would suggest to spend your money on something else. The seabed was littered with garbage, broken dead coral, minimal sealife, and broken nets.

 

Some of the Asian countries have devasted the marine life through over-fishing.. so you would probably find more fish washed up dead on Jom Tien beach that you would find on the end of a fishing line.

Thanks for the advice wedlock, seems like fishing might not be on the menu then. But you never know if I find a cheap deal for a few hours it might be worth a punt. Dave throw me a PM of your arrival/departing dates and we'll see if we can get together a trip.

Just spending a day on a boat with food, drinks, a girl and some fishiingrods can be fun enough with the right company =)

It may be worth checking out the Pattaya Sports Club (just google it ) as they run fishing trips. There are also trip reports on the site. For an afternoon or morning of fun there is always the pond at Soi 14 on Jomtien beach road. Rates there are reasonable and the last time I was there we had plenty of fish although nothing huge.
