Im heading to Patts on 18th April

 

What day is the actual water madness on?

Last year I was there it was on a Sunday the 19th

Is it always on the 19th or on a Sunday?

 

Is it on the Sunday 18th Monday 19th or Tuesday 20th?

Sonkran will be on 12,13 and 14 of april, im going on 11 of april so i can celebrait it.

If you go on 18 april, you will be to late.

In Pattaya it finishes on the 19th of April.

Normally in the countryside it lasts only 1 day on 13 April, but there are regional differences.

Chiang Mai usually 1 week, while Phuket 13-15th of April.

well i am heading out from england on the 17th april to arrive in patts on the 18th. i believe the final day is the 19th.... hope i am not wrong cos i am taking my kids and they are looking forward to the waterfighting....

I need to get my timing right as im travelling all over the place before i arrive there

Thats wrong,in Pattaya they start the fun 12-13/4 and the final day in Pattaya is on the 19th.(at least that was the dates last year)

Might be some early starters on 12th of April as well!

Last year the "Mad Day" was on Sunday 19th April, so this year Monday 19th April.

The madness usually lasts about 7/8 days in Pattaya so will probably kick off on Monday 12th April, but as it seems to last longer each year, you might get some people throwing water over the prior weekend.

Yes the 19th is the day of madness, when most ex-pats flee the city. Expect to be woken up at 6am by banging bass from a nearby bar. Expect many shirtless drunken falangs fighting & shooting water at motorbike taxis (hence the many injuries / deaths during this period). Expect a dozy bint working in a bar on soi 2 squirting you directly in the eye (at 2am when you thought it was safe), causing you to lose a £50 contact lens. In short, expect complete chaos.

No, Pattaya is not closed on the 19th, nor are any bars. EVERY bar is open & celebrating.

Yes, 19th is the day. Starts on the 12th, slowly building to madness on 19th.

making plans to get out of Thailand

during Songkran. Some of the other

Asian countries celebrate it too. I

was gong to Cambodia, but same old shit

there too. That is o.k., maybe China.
