Schengen Visa Question

If you are issued a tourist visa by the Netherlands embassy and buy return tickets from Bankgok to Belgium stopping in Finland (all part of Schengen) is this OK or do you physically have to fly into the Netherlands? We plan on spending the majority of time in the Netherlands but also time in Belgium, France and we will be driving between these countries. More convenient to fly first to Belgium.

Under Schengen Visa rules you apply to the country that you are going to spend the most time visiting.You may enter all other Schengen countries also but must spend the most time at the country you applied the Schengen visa for.

On applying you must show your complete intinary,tickets and above all have travel insurance with a minimum cover of 3 million euro.

You would be in transit awaiting connecting flights to your main destination this will cause you no problems.

In 2008 my (now ex) TGF flew with a Schengen visa issued by the Austrian embassy in Bkk to Munich, Germany. Then she traveled with me through Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and Monte Carlo and flew out from Milan, Italy without having any problems.

But as regulations might have changed since then, I strongly recommend contacting the visa issuing embassy.

The rules are quite clear they will have no problems.
