Bangkok - Sukhothai

Not keen on an 8hour busdrive to sukhothai, i've been thinking of just getting a domestic flight.

Only airliner i found flying directly to sukhothai is Bangkok airways.

does anyone have any experience with this route or other airliners they now flying it?

Also would it be wise to book ahead or the day itself?

I've done the route a few times. Only BKK Airways do the route ..... they own the airport, which is worth making the trip just to see. I would book ahead - they currently have a promotion running until Sunday.

Only been the once as a stop off to Chiang Mai

 

The plane was a twin turbo prop but was comfortable

 

The trip is worth it to see the worlds cutest airport

 

We were ushered off the plane - on to Thomas the Tank Engine - into arrivals which is built from wood in typical Thai style - through the high security door - which wasn't there that day - into departures - glass of orange juice -back on to Thomas the Tank Engine - back on the plane.

the airport is amazing, taking a plane for sure.

and if the TGF is scared of flying she can take the bus without me

have you been on a VIP bus before, not that bad IMO

nope havent tried a VIP bus, its just the amount of time "wasted" that bugs me more then the ride itself.
