Hey guys. Newbie here. Landing Dec Pattaya, first trip. Plan to bring cash. Reading other posts suggest do not buy Bath out of country wait till get in country. OK. Where do you guys exchange foreigh money to Baths? Was thinking when land exchange few hundred at airport. What do you think? In what currency would you pay a taxi driver to Pattaya from Airport? That is,do Thai service providers prefer foreign currency or Baths? Thanks

change cash in thailand you get a better rate, change a few hundred in the airport,

there are exchange boths every 100 metres or so in pattaya..no trouble finding a place to change cash

everyone prefers baht..

give the taxi 1300 baht... no tip required :001_Thank_You5:

100% correct. Last week Sydney, Australia, offered 25.4 baht to 1 Aust. dollar but at BKK airport the deal was 30 baht to the Aust. dollar. Huge difference.

You can change some at the exchange booth between immigration and customs. Just change enough to get you to Pattaya and a bit extra. Then just change at any exchange booth. It is not work shopping around as they don't differ by much.

Private moneychangers in Pattaya gives a much better rate than the banks if you change cash.

There is a good Moneychanger in Soi 10 just up 50 meters from Beach Rd. Another one is found at left side of North Pattaya Rd. 100 meters up from the roundabout.

In Thailand you always deal in Baht everywhere.

A taxi from the airport should not cost you more than 1.000B and no tips is required. You can also take the Bell Travel Bus from Level 1 of the Terminal, it will take you to Pattaya in 1½ hour and they will bring you to your hotel in a minibus for free. The bus leaves Suvarnabhumi every 2 hour. All for 200B.

Nothing in Thailand is 100% sure.
