As topic says - is it any good in Pattaya or indeed in Thailand as a whole? My laptop (more essential to me than air most days ) needs replacing and I'm wondering if it's worth waiting til I get there or if I should just replace it now. I know china was definately cheaper to buy from as was korea, but with the pound dropping so much value and never having been to thailand I need an experience opinion(s) please.

Get it now, and dont wait

You will find prices for comparable system will be higher, or quality lower, and little in the way of warranty in Thailand. If it goes wrong when you are home, who would you take it up with is another reason not to buy many miles away from home

Agree with Hedonist: no price advantage, even after tourist VAT refund (high import taxes), limited and dated ranges, most lap-tops supplied without an OS. Shops will load an OS of your choice with software that's often pirated, which can cause problems once you try linking with/updating programmes via internet.

 

Go to Tottenham Court Road (Gultronics/Gulftronics if they're still there).
