Same thing happened to me 3 or 4 times and they just take you to the back of the immgrattion counter to an officer and he will stamp your passport and your on your way home no problem, but if you overstay your visa by let's say 5 days they will charge you 1,000 baht for everyday you overstay simple really. So don't worry and don't change your flights, and enjoy Thailand............

if you are only getting a stamp for your 30 days then it won't be a problem because you get 1 day free from the immigrations desk. I have seen some fools overstay by a 100 days. That can be quite risky. You can always get a extension at the Jomtien office for 1900 bahts incase you want to stay a week longer or a 2000 baht border run for 15 days.

Is that the 31st day since leaving the UK or the 31st day since landing in Thailand? They are often a day apart and that can make the difference. But, as you will be passing throgh immigation before midnight on your return, I doubt whether you would have a problem,

I did it twice

Forst time a wink and a smile from the immigration guy

Second time, a 500THB fine

I suppose its a case of YMMV

In any case, there would be no real problem with it. Cheaper than a border run, or going to immigration and getting an extension, i would imagine

At the airports they waive the single day overstay (31days) For everyday you overstay after that its 500 baht per day. Max of 20,000 baht.

Land border crossings..they will charge you the same every day after 30 days.

Two things to take into consideration here. Is it really 31 or 32 days. Remeber that they count the day that you arrive and the day that you leave. If you arrive on the 1st and depart on the 30th that is 30 days. Also what is important is when the flight leaves not when you pass through immigration.
