Money for Visa to Ireland

Pauly15

Recommended Posts

My new Thai GF will be shortly making a Visa application to come to Ireland,

once she receives some documentation from me.

to ensure / help with a successful application, i think she needs a certain amount

of money in her Bank Account, sp that she can support herself when abroad

( even though i will be doing so ).

anyone know how much / or if this is correct, as i dont want to send too much

over unnecessarily.

call me untrustworthy if you like,

or anyone with simiiar experience when applying for Visa before?

Thanks

Are you talking about a UK Visa ?

If UK visa she needs nothing in her bank if you are sponsoring the trip as you must show the funds, also you must show you can maintain and accommodate her etc.

Or a visa for southern Ireland each has its individual laws in respect to this ?

Moving onto this application you must show the funds again also she must show her statements etc large lump sum deposits are no good. And she will be issued a visa stamp on entry by Immigration the stay is at their discretion.

And not forgetting if you live in Northern Ireland and you eventually marry the girl you may exercise your treaty rights and get a EU family permit free, then she is issued with a 5 year residence permit in Ireland.

No it is a Visa for the Republic of Ireland; i would imagine the laws are pretty similiar to UK.

i dont think there is a set figure allright.

As i will be supporting her, then yep i suppose its my Bank Account thats more relevant;

i will let her know this and se what she says; she was in the UK before,

with her sister so i suppose she ought to have some idea.

if you check this link http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP07000212 it states

If your reference in Ireland is supporting you, they must supply a detailed 6 month bank statement for the period immediately prior to your visa application showing sufficient funds to support you for the duration of your stay

i hope this helps

thanks for the info, i was thinking that my A/C was more important.

she said that i have to put 100000 in her A/C

she went to UK to stay with her sister; her sister's husband

seemingly put 150000 in her A/C

anyway im sure she dosent need 100000; plus i cant afford that much.

ill tell her i can send her money for Visa application, stay in Bangkok; shoppign etc

see what she says to that..
