Partner Visa in Australia

On Tuesday my wife and i had an appointment to lodge her visa application at the Brisbane office.

 

We walked out half an hour later with it all approved, no waiting for 6-7 months as we expected it was approved on the spot.

 

We got married on the 22nd, the appointment was on the 25th and her student visa was due to expire on the 31st.

 

He didn't even take everything we prepared for the application or look at all the documents we had.

 

Anyone else had similar experiences???

The fact that your wife had a student visa already greatly assisted your application. It simply becomes a change in status, as long as you show evidence of that change in status.

 

No visa applications are "easy" in Australia or anywhere else, the better prepared you are, the more likely the success rate.

I understand that having a student visa already helped but surely there is a difference in a visa for a few months to permanent residence.

 

The visa application was easy and so was the interview.
