Google the Bangkok Bank site. They are buying £s at 54.47 as of today. You invariably get a much better rate in LOS.

The best rate in the UK at the moment seems to be with M&S - 52.391B to the pound. I’m going to get a few hundred pounds worth for the first day and change the rest when I arrive.

Don't bother, you'll get a better rate in Bangkok Airport at the 24hr booths!!!

And the best is that you don't change your money into Thai bath at your homeland. Because the exchangerates are always less in Belgium, so i assume in the UK aswell!.I always change Euro banknotes in Thailand at an exchangeoffice mostly Kasikornbank, a green office between soi 2-3 across Big C, because they have most of the time the best rate. And for spare money or an emergency i use my visacard!

Off the topic of exchange in thailand but i was in a postoffice today. I has some spare time so asked them their baht to pound and she muttered 49.something to the pound.

For the newbs here, thats about 6 baht difference.

I was only getting around THB 33 for the US dollar when I was there this month.

During my trip in April...It was averaging about THB 34-35.

I wish I can experience the good old THB 41-42 days..I have a feeling I won't see that for sometime.

NEVER repeat NEVER change your sterling to Baht in the UK!

They slap you good and hard..

Normally 4/5 baht less, and they sometimes have the cheek to add a commision charge!

ALWAYS repeat ALWAYS change your sterling to Baht in Thailand.

Obviously, if you want to take Travellers cheques, you are going to get slapped.

Use a Card in Thailand, and then you are fair prey for the Thai Banks - 150Baht per W/d.

Never change any money in the UK - it only makes Thomas Cook wealthier.

Because we are printing money to pull us out of the recession, you are right... the 41 bht to dollar days are long gone. Today the rate is 33.7 to the dollar. Piss on it all!

Same in Australia, I walked past the travel centre exchange and they are advertising Bt25.90 to Au$1 but the exchange rate in Thailand is Bt29.22 to Au$1

I just exchange Au100 here and do the rest there
