Flipper lodge

Recommended Posts

I arrived in pattaya on the 16th april for two week's

Having booked the flipper lodge. I have been told

it was a fairly good hotel, and at first I thought

when I entered the reception area that it looked good!

Had I not booked and payed through an agent

I would have left immediately, it cost me 25,000

bht for 14 night's for a basic room which was shabby

at best, the shower curtain was torn in half and had'nt

been changed in a long time. The only thing I could see that

the cleaner's had done was made up the bed

Sometime's they changed the towel's

It ended up with me having to ask for clean towel's

much to the annoyance of the staff!!

All in all, I would say this hotel is past it's sell by date

maybe it was good once, but to be honest I think there

are far better in pattaya for the same money!

I for one wont go back there!

But that's just my opinion.

Let that be a lesson to people to deal with the hotel directly and NEVER pay in advance. When I check in they ask for one day in advance and that's all I pay till I check out.

I would be unamused if I'd paid in the region of 1000 baht a day too much.Current rate is 800 a day.

Hi,

Read on a board that it is being renovated from June to October.

I stayed there last month cost me 1000 bt a night my room was also a little tired but very clean and i had 4 clean towels every day. I had no problem with the staff. The pool of the roof was great, the food was good and cheap and the location for me right on soi 8 was excellent, personally i would recommend the hotel.

I have stayed in the FLipper Lodge many times and found it to be good value for money with excellent staff. A tip of 100 baht to houskeeping on check in works wonders - no problem with fresh towels or anything else after that. I also leave 20 baht a day on the pillow for the maid and again this paltry amount works wonders. I would stay there in the future without hesitation.

Thank you for the warning on this. I am learning alot from this forum.

I am a simple yet complicated man. I believe in protecting all species especially beavers. I believe beavers need petting, and a subtle kiss from time to time to know they are doing a fine job. I have said it once and I will say it again beaver is really mans best friend!!! If you dont like the way the beaver is acting.......Screw it!!!!

This hotel is OK I prefer the Flipper house in Soi 7, like you say it is getting a bit old now and a better hotel is the Sunshine hotel just up the road in soi 8.

The lesson is don't book before you see the hotel. Booking your first two nights in advance is OK but then just pay one night at a time; then when you don't like the hotel anymore or you've butterfly-ed with too many girls nearby just up and move.

i used to stop in this hotel every time because i like the Soi 8 area, the problem is it can be very loud, nowadays i like to stay at the Charming Inn on the corner of Soi 3 and Beach Road. In March the rooms were 800 bt per night, the only thing some members might not like is, the beds are 2 twin beds together on a wooden frame, but it has a swimming pool, room service, safety deposit boxes in reception, a lift, and nice smelling clean linen.

hi

i would agree having stayed at the flipper house many times i have now changed as the place is getting so shabby, i is`a pity because the staff i always found are first rate and always ready to help . maybe they will spend a bit of money on it soon .

Coming back in october, and have booked a condo in the 9 karat complex.

Having seen them last time, I'm impressed, and only, 10.000 for 2 week's!

64 sq, mtr. apartment, fully equipped, and only 5 minute's to soi8, by motocy!

Well worth the money! Cheer's, Gizmo.
