Early Retirement In LOS

Big Casino

Recommended Posts

I am looking to take early retirement in the next couple of years and have got lady plus home up north organised and hopefully enough money. My problem is I am not keen on the visa run every three months and as I do not intend to get married straight away (thats another story)I have heard a whisper that you can pay for a residential visa which entitles you to stay for as long as you like allthough you have no vote ect over any thai issues. £3000.00 has also been bantered around.

Does anyone know if this is true and if true what is the cost and are there any stipulations on age. marriage, goverment bond owner, money in bank etc.

Thanks

never heard of it. I would suggest researching on thaivisa.com. Border runs every 3 months are not a reason to get married, good thinking

If you are, or will be over 50 when the time comes then its best to go for a non O-A for the purpose of retirement.

the qualifiacations for which are:

1)An income (from your home country) of at least 65,000 TBH per month. this can be a pension, rental income, or any other such income stream. You dont have to bring the money into the Kingdom, though. All thats needed is a letter from your home countries embassy in Thailand verifying said income.

2) At least 800,000 TBH in a THAI bank for at least ( i think) 3 months before you apply for any extension at Immigration within Thailand.

This 800,000 might have to be seen as being used and topped up as and when its needed, but, at present people are using the same 800,000 to get 90 day extensions.

3) A combination of the above...........IE, if you only can muster, say 50,000 TBH a month, you would need to show 200,000 in a Thai bank.

You can get the no O-A from your home country before setting out for Thailand.

Thats the most straightforward way of getting a "yearly" visa. You dont have any boredr runs or suchlike. You just need to report to Immigration every 90 days.

If you are nowhere near 50 then this info dont apply to you, and i just wasted 10 mins typing it all out
