Central Festival Food Loft

Central Festival Food Loft is on the 3rd Floor on the Beach Rd. side of the mall. It isn't on the same floor as most of the other restaurants, and is tucked away in the back of the building, so it doesn't get much traffic. It is set up in a similar fashion to Food Wave at Royal Garden Plaza, in that you get a card that logs all your purchases and then you pay when you leave. The prices are also similar to Food Wave, slightly higher than average, but the better ambiance and decor make up for that.

 

There is a wide variety of foods available including, Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian etc. There is also a dessert and a drink section. Alcoholic drinks are available. As you order, each stall will swipe your card, and then they will bring your food out to your table. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area; I'd recommend the outdoor section, especially at night as the views are fantastic.

 

 

 

 

There is a 'no pictures' sign at the entrance, so I don't have any pictures of the front or the service areas, but I did get plenty of pics of the food.

mind you i have thai food 3 times a week as the wife cooks it

but ingredients are dear from thai shop

Whenever i've been at the Food Wave they made an effort to bring the stuff i ordered to my table. Every time i went to the lower floor food court at Central i had to wait for it to be cooked and take it to table myself.

Whats the deal here?

Think they must have done as there was not a word said about us using cameras inside. It is easy to miss this place but well worth a visit, its situated in one of the wings that stick out from CF overlooking the bay. There is an air-conditioned area inside, or you can sit outside where you are high enough to benefit from any breeze. Its a bit like an up market Royal Garden although the prices are similar.

 

The food shown was just Chucks order, the rest of us got on and ate ours before he could steal that as well

Chuck, thanks for the report and photo's. I will hit the ground running in late July and reports like this have my blood flowing

Sorry, don't remember many, but the Naan breads were ฿60, the Dim Sum dishes were ฿40-฿60 I think, and the Pad Thai was about ฿120. There is a service charge added also that I forgot to mention, same as in Food Wave at RGP.

 

I may have read the posts wrongly, but am I right in saying that you order the food then you have to go back up once its ready and take it yourself to your own table ?

 

I only ask as I was surprised to read that you said they charge a service charge.

Thats exactly whats happened every time i have eaten at Central

A bit of a cheek, really, considering its cheaper to eat at the Food Wave in Royal Garden, and THEY bring the food to table for you
