Yes it is finished very big center ,

And getting bigger..they are adding another shitload of storeys to it. Dunno if its still more shops, condos, offices or what, but it sure dwarfs the surrounding area

Anyone who bought a condo on the north side of the View Talay next door to it has just lost any side seaview if they arent near the front of the building

They are building so many shopping malls, we'll all have one each in a few years time.

When I was there in January it was just opened and the prices are dearer than at home for aftershaves and designer clothes.

Its a great place to have something to eat - so many choices.

The new cinema is fantastic and the seats so comfortable but does get rather cold with in there with the air-con.

When I was in Patts in April I walked through this mall several times and I did not see a lot of customers

buying anything, most were there eating or window shopping.

Most shops in this mall are expensive, which leads me to think, what market were they designing this mall for when they built it?

The normal Thai's can't afford to purchase the goods there. I cannot see regular tourist from developed nations such as England, USA & Europe

purchasing these goods as they can get them at the same prices back home, most tourist will probably buy knock off goods from Thailand and take them back home

as gifts or to sale them or for personal use.

The movie theaters are very nice, that was the reason that I went there.

It will be very interesting to see over the next year how this mall does.

I was also there when it opened, and the traffic was horrendous on Beach and 2nd Rds, it was quicker to walk than jump a baht bus. NIGHTMARE...Had food on top floor, got to say the choice was great and well priced, but, as stated, empty shops, expensive designer type places and bewildered looking thais wondering what it was all about. I think it looks outta place personally...

The Zen Sushi place is almost twice as much as the one in RGP.

Nice mall - upscale shops - upscale prices.

I will be in Pattaya soon and I'mlooking forward to taking a look at this new shopping mall. It opened just after my last visit.

Going by some of the previous comments the shops sound very expensive. So i don't think I'll be buying anything from there.

So I think I'll be trying out some of the places that sell food.

My hotel is near the Avenue and the Royal Garden Plaza so if I want to watch a movie I'll visit one of these places rather than go to the new Shopping mall

I agree that it seems like a strange location for such a high end mall & wonder about some of the shops survival prospects.

Had lunch at the Vietnamese noodle place (Saigon Cafe I think its called) & it was excellent. Reasonable for the location too, about 250baht for 2 people - noodles & drinks. Didn't have alcohol (was suffering a bit). Recommended.

Decent bookshop (B2S) but pricey.

Well i guess you cant see the "materplan" dreamed up by City Hall then?

Next time you are in Pattaya, make a starting point from where the beach sweeps into view (just where the Thai Airways building is) and either walk, ride a motorbike, or take a baht bus along Beach Road as far as Pattaya Klang. I think you will find there are high end condo blocks, high end hotels, high end cafes and restaurants springing up, or have already been there a while, all along the northern end of Beach Road And now they got a high end shopping plaza there too. The common phrase with those examples is............. high end. OK, its not wall to wall just yet, but give it time. Rome (or " high end Pattaya" wasnt built in a day. And i think the ladyboys and freelancers dont get up that far these days. Whether the plans will (A) work or (B) be complete in our lifetimes is debatable, but they sure wont stop City Hall's attempt to reclassify Pattaya as a high end place for high end tourists..... the type we keep hearing they are trying to attract, thats for sure

I was there last month, a nice looking mall but lots of window shoppers not many actual shoppers.

Went to the Japanese on 5th or 6th floor, the one with the conveyor belts. Place was packed with all you can eat buffet for about 260bht per head. I thought it was very good value and nice food, also had loads of Japs in so I work on the theory if they eat in a Jap place should be ok. In Bkk there are a few Korean restaurants in Korea town (obviously) and the one that tasted the best was full of Koreans.

The other Japanese places were very quiet.

Bloody expensive , slippery tiles , the cleaning machine leaves wet streeks, so definately watch your footing. Nearly landed on my back several times , I wont be going back in there.

Only reasonable prices was in the thai food court.

Last time I was in Pattaya (Nov 2008), they were building a huge complex on 2nd road, opposite about Soi 11 (I think) What has that turned into?

Are we talking about the Central Festival here?

If so, it's a decent place.

The thing I don't get it is, though, they don't have a luxury brand that many Japanese/Korean tourists go after (think about Cartier, Louis Vuitton, etc).

And it's a bit too expensive for average Thais.

I'd rather shop at the Siam Paragon in Bangkok than this place, but restaurant selection is quite good IMHO.
