I have been recieving emails from a company (Thailand Holiday Homes) that rents houses in Pattaya as an example they have great looking 4Br houses with private swimming pool and furnishings for starting at 94 pounds per nigh. The latest offer is they will give you bonus nights.

Has anybody had experience with these places/people or do you know where tyhese houseses are located ?

Most of these houses are located in the Jomtien area. Still on the town side of Pattaya ie west of the dividing highway. As the prices indicate, they are for short time holiday rentals. If you want to stay longer, there are plenty houses on the east side of the highway ranging between 400 Pound and 1000 Pound per month. Minimum rental periods 6 month.

Take a look at this map...

Generally the houses that these companies rent are in the green area, on the east side of Sukumvit, also called the Darkside. It's pretty far from the main action in Pattaya, you will really want a car or motorbike to make it work. A motorbike taxi to the darkside from Walking Street is 100-120 baht, a baht bus will run you 250-300. Of course, it can be hard to find a taxi out there.

It all depends on what type of vacation you want. If your going to be down at Walking Street every night I think these houses are more trouble then they are worth. If you want to stay long term, have a motorbike, and don't want to stay in a condo then these houses can be rented for 2-3 months for 25-30k baht per month. The problem is you really have to see what they look like in person. I wouldn't trust the pictures, even if the place is nice you never know what the area is like unless you see it in person.

Good Luck.

I have rented a house several times on the beach side of sukhumvit road. I have paid 10k - 12k a month for a furnished two bedroom place. there are a lot of places for rent off soi arunothai (opposite carrefour in pattaya central road) as there are many side sois off this street. worth having a walk around. also have a look on the notice boards at carrefoure shopping centre (downstairs outside the toilets) and also Foodland supermarkets.

These companys that rent houses get a rather cut of the rent plus advertising fees...Best to rent a bike and do a little driving..You will see plenty for rent at a much lower cost then the rental agencies...

No place on the Planet like Pattaya..Don't let your meat loaf
