Guest UNfriendly hotels

Many of us are looking for guest friendly hotels in Pattaya, which seems to be most hotels in town....so maybe a list of guest UNfriendly hotels would be shorter and more helpful?

I'd start with the Royal Cliff Resort, which nicked me 600 Baht a night for company last autumn. I was attending a conference, so I couldn't very well move out to a more friendly location until the meeting was finally over. I've read that the newish Sheraton (just down the road from the Royal Cliff toward the ocean) charges something like 1000 Baht per night joiner fee and another Addicts thread mentioned that the new Mercure changed policy and now charges a joiner fee. Any other hotels that deserve a place on the list of shame?

For 600 Baht a night, I would consider getting a second room at a guesthouse near the action.

Good post, though, I have never had a problem, but am interested in others results.

Avoid The Champ hotel. They charged me a 500 Baht joiner fee.

The Montien on 2nd road. They want you to register you guest. They do not like you bringing various ladies back at all.

As dboy suggested, I ended up getting a place closer to the action. It ended up costing a few baht more than the joiner fee, but the Royal Cliff's attitude was pretty obnixious. I don't like bringing somebody back to the hotel and watchng the desk staff sneer.
