Suggestion to take a look at the Bangkok/Pattaya hospital website for a look to see what they have.

Guess if people looking at this thread with orthopedic experiences in Thailand I would be curious about anybody's experiences with knee replacement there.  Prices seem reasonable compared to US offerings and think recuperative time would be much more enjoyable/cheap in Thailand as well.

I was a patient at 'Bangkok Hospital (Pattaya)' in March for follow-up on urology problem for which I had had day surgery at the big Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok.

Very favourably impressed by the whole set-up at both hospitals. Big, spacious; efficient staff; good doctors.

Charges were much less than they would be in Australia; I paid by credit card.

But in Australia I would have been covered by Medicare and by my additional medical insurance. To be eligible for refund, treatment must be in Australia by a registered doctor. Pre-existing conditions are usually not eligible under travel medical insurance.

Certainly worth an initial consultation with a view to estimate for any treatment you need.

Suggest book consultation with orthopedic consultant. If you can, idea to forward your x-rays etc for review.

bangkok hospital price list - Google Search  is a good starting point for information.

Good luck.

Greetings,

You should see Dr. Danai, an Orthopefic Surgeon from Pattaya International Hospital on Second Road, Soi 4. I've seen him for my injured shoulders, knees and herniated L4 and L5!

I had my shoulder repaired (torn rotator cuff) in Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. Would not recommend going back there.

Get on the bus, and go to Bangkok and see Dr Pornthep Mamanee https://www.bangkokhospital.com/en/doctor/dr-pornthep-mamanee

He is the top shoulder surgeon in the country and has reviewed my surgery that has failed. He advised me not to re-do it at present, as I still have strength and mobility in it. If I lose either of those, then he said to come see him and he will fix it. I had MRI's done on both shoulders, and the right side is torn as well. He also advised me not to do surgery at this time.

He said to me, "I make money cutting people open, but I don't cut people open to make money."

Most professional doctor I have met in Thailand, and I have been to many.
