This was always going to be inevitable. The amount of times I saw farangs and other tourists use their cheap plastic wallets they just bought to keep their cash, phones and even passports sealed inside and hung around their necks with a bit of string/tape was countless over Songkran week. As I am sure many of you know, the plastic wallets are transparent and therefore the tourists inadvertently were advertising their valuables to the eyes of the world, including the unscrupulous characters that roam sin city; easy pickings when everyone is distracted by the crazy water festival.
