No car rental at U-Tapao?

Hi all,

I will be flying into UTP next week and would have liked to rent a car, but I haven't been able to find any available car rentals on trip.com. Am I using the wrong platform or are there really no car rentals at U-Tapao Airport?

Any alternative transport to Pattaya? Bus service?

Have you ever rented a car or driven the roads in Thailand...?

There are Baht Bus Taxis at UTP

I've arrived there a few times (from Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui). Taxis outside terminal; think fee into Pattaya was 800 bahts in 2020(?), maybe more now, about 30-40 minutes.

Baht bus there too. But you may have to wait until it is full, and it does a tour of Pattaya to drop off passengers, so takes much longer.

There are at least 3 car rental companies at UTP, one of them is AVIS.

Yes, but only in the quiet North, I felt like it wasn't too bad. There are places in Europe that are more stressful. (Athens...)

Strange that I can't find them on most of the platforms. Booking.com as suggested by @vivid2 also only has one rental company "Drive".

Anyway, I ended up using Grab, cheap and convenient enough.
