Root Canal Treatment and Crown within 1 week

Hello all,

I'm due to be in Pattaya from 23 march till 1 April.

I have a bit of a situation where my lower back molar is in need of a root canal and crown.

My local dentist already did an open drain and cleaned up the infection on the affected molar yesterday and will do a temporary cap for this molar tomorrow. He knows I'm travelling this weekend and told me that the temporary cap can function for a couple of months, but I shouldn't delay the root canal and crown for too long. I can either do it in Pattaya or wait till I'm back home.

The advantages of doing it in Pattaya are (1) cost is probably half or 1/3 of it back home. (Just doing the open drain to clean up the infection cost me 5500THB here) and (2) convenience of a one stop shop (my local dentist will refer me to a specialist to do the root canal and then come back to him to do the crown. So I have to run around quite a bit to get it done).

So I just want to ask to see whether any of you have the experience of getting the root canal treatment and crown done up within 8 days in Pattaya?

I have an appointment on 24 March with my usual dental clinic in Pattaya (V Dental on south Pattaya road near tukcom). If you have a recommendation of a Dental clinic that can get it done within 8 days, I'm open to explore those clinics.

Yes, it can be done in a week and at a lower cost.

I was also able to claim the work on my dental insurance and got 50% of the total cost back
