Kasikorn or Bangkok Banks is most likely the best option for most expats to open in Thailand.  I personally have Kasikorn and love their mobile app.  No need to have the debit card to make withdrawals, only your smartphone.

Set up a WISE account for money transfers.

USA expats have the option of any government pensions to be deposited into Bangkok Bank.  Not sure if the Redcoats (Brits) have that option.

Same for me, K Bank on line for many years and never let me down. Started transfers with Wise some years ago also with no problems.

KBank and SCB are great with Wise

BBL can be a bit funny. Sometimes get delays

The Thai interest rates are normal. Not high, not low.

I keep my money in investment accounts in the USA, then transfer using WISE as needed.
