How do YOU balance your updates?

I just moved here (long time visitor), and did my first Cambodia Visa Run on the 1st of December.

My plan is to do another on December 31st (Or would it just be easier to get an extension at the Immigration Office?)

Because the 2 times a year VISA Run is per Calendar Year, that means I'm able to do two more beginning 2024, BUT...

My plan is to FLY to Cambodia on the 30th of January and stay for a week, and apply for a 60 day at the Thai Embassy (any help or info on this would be much appreciated)

Then get an extension in April... THEN when it's due, go on my next VISA run...

I need to plan this out to ease my mind...

i would do the extension in jomtiem & apply for  a METV in Cambodia instead of a SETV.

This can give you 9 more months with a last  visa run day before expiry then a extension taking you to end of September.

Is the METV available to American's?

Don't know why it would not be.
However i cant see either on Cambodian embassy website

Link seem old as the requirements have changed well for Australians Appling in Australia 

From you link 

The 6-month tourist visa (METV) can only be applied for in your home country. You cannot apply for it if you are already in Thailand, or if you are not a citizen of the country where you are applying. If you are already in Thailand, you can travel to an embassy in Penang, Vieteniene or Kuala Lumpur and apply for Single-Entry Visa.
