New Argentine Steak House Opening at former Bruno's Location

We had dinner with another couple at Gian's last night.

The adjacent former Bruno's location is draped in signs saying that an Argentine Steak House called "Gaucho" will be opening soon. Not sure if persons from other countries are familiar with these types of places, but they are popular in both the US and the rest of the Americas.

In the US these places tend to have great food "yes mainly beef" that is not good at all for both your cholesterol count and Morning weigh in. burp.

Looking forward to trying it. 😞

Wouldn't be supprised if it's part of the El Gaucho's chain that have branches in Bangkok, Phuket, Samui already... I have eaten in the branch next to Central Festival on Sukhumvit Soi 19 once and it was good food but expensive.

Yes, this is the same place.

@ChiFlyer  This is similar to the ones in the USA there is no connection to any US company.

I was in Bangkok a month ago and they confirmed it.

They added me to the list for the grand opening event, so I am looking forward to that.

Sometime in December is what they are thinking.

There has already been some talk about this location on another thread:

Did you go in and take a photo of the menu and run out?

or did you try a steak?  555

I’m betting on soup but “run out the door” is a possibility too

wow - that was fast.  Going by there 2 wks ago did not think it was close to opening this soon.  I like the food at Gauchos in HCMC last yr, but with beef prices doing what they have it is no surprise that prices are higher.  Guess it remains to be seen if it is better than other steak options in Pattaya/Jomtien.

Having tried the one near Terminal 21 in BKK several times, I would say it is overpriced, compared with Patricks and Beefeater, and similar quality.

Probably just me I guess, but I consider Beefeater to be overrated. I am not that big on Patricks either. The best steak places in the Banglamung area IMO are Cafe des Amis, and The Royal Cliff Grill Room (currently closed for remodeling).

I will likely give Gaucho a try at some point after the holiday season.
