Kung's now hiring..... but why ?

Just came across this on my FB feed and was curious as to why their hiring staff.

Are they anticipating a busy high season, or has there been discontent amongst the current staff ?

Like many BM's I'm a regular visitor to Kungs whenever I'm in town, and have been impressed with both the food and the service staff.

Long may both continue.

Uh - I have been here less than a week and think you would be hard pressed to walk by any business without there being a sign wanting help.  Pretty sure this just a seasonal thing.

Hard to find loyal staff who stick around a long time. There's a reason so many ladies here turn to prostitution/freelancing.

The question is why should the pretty ones work for 300/350 baht per day as against what they can earn freelancing as above

Exactly why 1 customer a day off TF for say 1500 baht for 1 hour or less is why girls opt for missing out on the 350 baht a day 10 hour shift.

Last time I was in there they only had one waitress working the shift and the place was quite full. So sounds reasonable they are hiring if they are short on staff no?

Just to revisit, the timing of this thread and activity on Lengkee in the month following makes me believe they were hiring in preparation for the opening of Chomp

True. Kungs not the best paying sausages in town.

Kung's and any other restaurant could operate like bars do with barfines to take their waitresses back to the customer's place!! Would need to hire even more girls though to have enough to wait the tables.
