Buying a AIS 1–2-Call sim at the airport

I am assuming you still have to product your passport to buy a sim in Thailand and so wanted to know if there was any where at swappy arrivals to buy one?
It just seems a good opportunity rather than have to take your passport out again later to buy one?

Booths everywhere.

They have them in baggage area now as well on the far wall and a heap outside baggage in pickup hall.

from my experience, they wanted cash near the baggage area, no cards. So, it is great to have this where you are waiting for your stuff but no SIM-card without Baht please. Hopefuly this was a day with technical problems and not normal...
