Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming in Thailand. Anybody use it and how did you set it up?

Pretty much what I asked in the title, I am subscribed to Game Pass which is good but has several games that are not downloadable but only played though cloud gaming, including Starfield which I have been waiting for for a while now but can't play. When I try to play any of the cloud gaming games it says cloud gaming is not supported in my region.

I cannot install a VPN on the Xbox console, I believe my only hope is to have one installed on my router but I can't find any instructions to do this. Has anyone done this before and if so how did you do it? I'm with 3BB if that helps.

I would try this - install VPN on laptop or phone, then make it a hotspot, connect xbox to that - then try if it works. In theory it should work, and be pretty easy to do

I did try this, my laptop has no hotspot function, and I tried it on my phone but it didn't work. Thanks for the suggestion though my friend.

Most VPN's have config files for your router. You download it, apply it and then your Xbox will be VPN'd.

The difficulty of this depends on your router. I have a gaming router with this feature built in, other routers you simply upload the VPN config file.

Your VPN provider will provide install instructions based on your router.

You know the rules, Don't trust 'em, don't love 'em - And don't let 'em fool you.

I use Express VPN but all the routers they list are not my one unfortunately, 3BB gave me a Fibrehome router, think it is some generic brand. They seem to support only the main names, ASUS, D-Link etc... I am trying not to have to buy a whole new router. I have asked 3BB and got a number for a third party guy who they say can do it... it will be the cheapest option I think, hopefully it works.

  • 5 months later...

Not sure if you still need it but just buy a residential proxy (a $2-5 static should be just fine and comes with unlimited bandwidth) and route all your traffic through it, many guides out on the internet on how to run proxies, an easy way would be using Proxifier.
