Water filtration system advice??

Is anyone using water filtration system at home for drinking water?

Any advice on systems and suppliers in Pattaya.

I'd be looking to get filters installed under sink. I've also seen ads for standalone reverse osmosis systems.

Reverse osmosis is A lot more expensive, are they worth the cost and is that level of filtration necessary.

I have a 7 filter reverse osmosis in the condo. Me and the owner recently changed all 7 filters which cost 1,500b. Yearly filter change is planned.

I have also installed the same unit. However I keep getting different advice on the filter change frequency, ranging from 3-12 months.

For peace of mind, R/O is the best system to get for a residence for drinking water.  Other effective treatment systems are usually for larger applications and come with a larger cost.  There are cheaper alternatives but you get what you pay for.

The filter/membrane change frequency is going to depend on quality of manufacture and quality of water being filtered.  NEVER exceed manufacturers frequency.

Buying jugs of water from a water depot or equivalent may be another choice, just ask them about their membranes.  Might be more cost effective but you'd need research to find out.  They use R/O.

If you already have an R/O system you might want to purchase a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter, it will tell you if your membrane is starting to require changing if the number starts to go up.

I did 12 months on the same set of filters. No obvious issues. As distantvoyeur mentions above, you can get a device that measures stuff in your water.
