What is the best type of VOIP provider to use for my particular case... for example If my VOIP provider is based in my home country (Ireland) but I am working for 2+ months from Thailand for the summer? Will the call quality be effected because my VOIP provider company is based half way around the world? 
Or would I be better using a global VOIP provider like Skype or 8x8 etc which might mean the voip quality could potentially be better as they would have users based all over the world?

Any insight into getting the best VOIP quality from Thailand will be appreciated, thank you.
