Return flight on o visa 90 day will I need one

Hi,  can someone help. 
 

will be applying for 90 day o non immigration visa then one yr extension

 

can I just book single flight from uk to Thailand

Off topic a little.  
 

was on flight home to Manchester , and got talking to a guy who booked a single flight two months ago because 

he wasn’t sure how long he wanted to stop in Thailand 

and Qatar airlines would not let him travel unless he had return flight. So had to book return flight there and then at check in desk.  
anyone else had this before

It will depend on the check in staff.

The Non O isn’t classed as a ‘long term visa so, at least in theory, you should have a return flight within 90 days. I’d say you’d be unlucky to have a problem, depending how you deal with them. 

I had a Non O for my trip in November and the check in lady just asked if I had a visa but didn’t ask to see it. My original return flight was 92 days, so probably close enough to 90 anyway. As usual, no questions at Immigration in BKK.

Once you get an annual extension then it’s not an issue.

If the RTE London give you the visa with just a one-way flight then that gives you a stronger case if check in raises anything.

Sorry, that's not correct. What is needed is onward travel within whatever period you're stamped in for. So a cheap burner ticket is always a good idea.

It depends on the airline and the employee at the airline you end up having to deal with.  It should be more consistent than that but it's not.   If Thailand started checked all that stuff and denying entry more often then all the airlines would fall in line pretty quick and start checking.

Doesn't the visa application process call for proofs of travel? Regardless, flew in on KLM in November on a non-O and no question asked at ( biz) check-in
