Jomtien Hotels?

I will be in LOS for 2 months and Pattaya for about a month. I really like the Jomtien Beach area as a nice break from being in the heart of Patts. 

I am looking at some hotels in JB. I have stayed before, but in smaller venues. On this trip, I am booking only hotels with pool and decent fitness/gym. One that keeps popping up on Agoda with great rates is D Varee Jomtien Beach Pattaya hotel. Does anyone have any experience with staying there? The photos look great. But of course photos can be misleading or be really old. I am looking at a room with balcony and ocean view. 

Any recommendations for Jomtien Beach?

I stayed at this hotel in July 2022 three days before changing hotels. In relation to bars and nightlife, the hotel is not centrally located. But there is a bathbus along Beach Road. The hotel is a large classic four star hotel that is getting tired. I got a room overlooking the beach and it had a fantastic view. A very large selection of breakfast. The hotel has a bar at the top. There were also no problems with taking female overnight guests with me. You also get good value for money. But I will never come back. The hotel was a bit too big and impersonal for me. I was completely dependent on the lift and the area around the hotel is quite dead. I prefer more action.
