couple hotel questions

Recommended Posts

I'm coming to Thailand for the first time in Feb. 2 weeks. I was planning on staying at Areca Lodge in Pattaya. I plan on having guests...should i book the hotel room as double occupancy? I'm not sure if that matters.

I'm also a bit flexible and was wondering about staying a couple days in Bangkok before gping to Pattaya. Any suggestions, particularly hotel recommendations in Bangkok? I'm not sure where to go.

Any pointers would be very welcomed, cheers

Jon

What @SlowlyMansaid the Areca is a good choice and that is where I stay each trip.

Which ever hotel you chose book for 2 people as there is no additional charge for doing that.

Its been a while but in Bangkok I would stay at the Dynasty Inn hotel on Soi 4, just up the Soi from Nana Plaza.

Excellent advice, I also always stayed on Soi 4 (near Nana Plaza) at a "boutique" hotel called Heaven@4, a bit of a quirky hotel but nice and never had a problem even on occasions where I was accompanied by more than 1 guest.

Sorry for the full quote do not know how to do the name label thing?

bangkok: give a budget / night and i'm happy make a recommendation. stay in the asok area as a newbie (i'd probably say to stay between asok und soi nana somewhere (so sois 4 - 14 for even sois or soi 5 - 21 for odd soi numbers).

Not been to Bangkok for years but the Dynasty inn where i've stayed a couple of times is dead convenient in a good area.

Like others said, I always book double.

Sometimes it is not necessary but better to not worry about it.

LIke PeteHoax mentioned, it is really difficult to give you a hotel suggestion without a budget.

However, since you are at Areca Lodge, I will use similar numbers.

You indicated you had no idea, so stay in Asoke or Nana area.

My other go to is Dream hotel Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15.  It is down the road from Thermae where you can find a lot of FL girls, as well as Hooters.

This hotel is in the middle so there is a moderate walk to Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy.

If you have a higher budget, I normally stay at Grande Centre Pointe hotel, but it can vary around 3000-6000 baht per night.

It is nice because you are a short walk to Soi Cowboy and the hotel is attached to the BTS Asoke.

So you can take BTS to Nana or walk as it it not too far. If you find a girl you will want to taxi back.

The Sukhumvit MRT station is right next to Asoke BTS too.
